Perspective

ORN:  10.3 miles, easy

Running this morning on our city's trail through Happy Hollow Park, I caught up with an elderly man out for a walk on this beautiful morning.  He was moving crisply, though with the slightly stiff, uneven gait that happens with age.

As I pulled even with him, I greeted him and commented on what a great morning it was, referring to the weather.

Without missing a beat, he smiled, looked me in the eye and said "Any day I'm alive is a great morning."

As I got closer to home, I saw a younger woman walking a couple of dogs.  I greeted her, commenting on the lovely morning.

Without missing a beat, she looked at me and said "Yeah, but it could get hot this afternoon."

Choose your perspective.

Persevere.

Thanks for the reminder. It's Monday — I'm alive — I'm healthy.
